MySafe:Riverside joined the Riverside City Fire Department and Police Department as part of the city’s annual Police and Fire expo. The MySafe:Riverside team delivered multiple educational CPR sessions, provided print materials that help people better understand the importance of “Ready, Set, Go” relative to wildfires, as well as other materials.
More than 100 people participated in the hands-only CPR instruction. MySafe:Riverside EMTs Bryan Vardanian and Christopher Kerbrat teach CPR in Riverside at events and special life safety presentations. “Our educational efforts are designed to supplement what the Riverside Fire Department does, “said Education Director Cameron Barrett. “Firefighters are busy these days, so helping with education keeps them available for emergency calls.”
The Riverside Fire Department puts on demonstrations throughout the day. Fire suppression, a smashed up car, and other demos attract visitors from not only the City of Riverside, but surrounding areas as well. All in all, it’s a full day of fun in the sun.
MySafe:Riverside is a unit of the California Fire Prevention Organization, a non-profit fire and public safety agency. CalFire Prevention partners with fire agencies across the state, acting as a force multiplier and at no cost to each department. Learn more at mysafecalifaornia.org
